Privacy Policy

What information Sixated collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the GDPR and CCPA.

Last updated: 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Sixated (“Sixated,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit sixated.com, subscribe to our newsletter, or otherwise interact with our content and services. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and transparently.

Who we are

Sixated is an independent editorial publication covering fashion, beauty, wellness, and lifestyle. We are based in the United States and operate with a distributed editorial team. For the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Sixated acts as the data controller for personal data processed through this site. For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@sixated.com.

Information we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Newsletter and subscriptions. Your email address, and optionally your name, when you sign up for our newsletter or updates.
  • Correspondence. The content of any message you send us, including your email address and anything you choose to include.
  • Comments and submissions. If you comment, enter a giveaway, respond to a survey, or otherwise submit information, we collect what you provide.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical and device data. IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, screen size, referring URLs, the pages you view, and access timestamps.
  • Usage data. How you navigate the site, which articles you read, and aggregate engagement signals such as time on page.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See the “Cookies” section below and our Cookie Policy for full detail.

Information from third parties

We may receive aggregated or de-identified audience and demographic information from our analytics and advertising partners. We do not buy personal contact lists.

How we use your information

  • To deliver newsletters and updates you have requested.
  • To respond to your messages and provide support.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the site and our content.
  • To measure and analyze traffic and engagement in aggregate.
  • To serve and measure advertising, where applicable and subject to consent.
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: consent (for example, newsletter sign-ups and non-essential cookies), legitimate interests (operating and improving the site, security, and aggregate analytics, balanced against your rights), contract (providing a service you have requested), and legal obligation (compliance with applicable law).

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies that make the site work, analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is used, and, where applicable, advertising cookies. We use privacy-conscious analytics to measure traffic in aggregate. You can control non-essential cookies through our consent tool and your browser settings. Full detail, including categories and how to opt out, is in our Cookie Policy.

Advertising partners

Sixated may display advertising and use affiliate links to fund our work. Advertising partners and affiliate networks may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure performance and, where you have consented, to show more relevant ads. Affiliate links let us earn a commission at no additional cost to you; see our Affiliate Disclosure. These third parties process data under their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

How we share data

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share our newsletter list with advertisers. We share data only as follows:

  • Service providers. Vendors we use for hosting, content delivery and security, email delivery, and analytics, acting on our instructions.
  • Advertising and affiliate partners. As described above, subject to your consent where required.
  • Legal and safety. When required by valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Sixated, our readers, or the public.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may transfer subject to this policy.

Data retention

  • Newsletter list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your record.
  • Correspondence: typically up to 24 months after our last exchange.
  • Analytics data: retained in aggregated form according to our analytics provider’s defaults, generally no longer than needed for reporting.
  • Server logs: a short rolling window, typically around 30 days.

Your rights under the GDPR

If you are in the EU, UK, or a jurisdiction with comparable law, you have the right to access your data, request correction or deletion, restrict or object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). To exercise these rights, email privacy@sixated.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Your rights under the CCPA/CPRA

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined under California law. Sixated does not sell personal information for money. To the extent our use of advertising or analytics cookies is considered “sharing,” you may opt out using our cookie consent tool or by contacting privacy@sixated.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Children’s privacy

Sixated is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@sixated.com and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

Sixated is based in the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” note above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
