About Us

An independent fashion, beauty, wellness and lifestyle publication built on one honest idea: six is the right number of things to recommend.

Sixated is an independent digital publication covering fashion, beauty, wellness, home and the wider world of considered living. We exist because most “best of” lists have quietly stopped meaning anything. Twenty-five products with no clear winner, a page that scrolls for a full minute, affiliate links stitched into every second sentence: that is not curation, it is inventory. We built Sixated to do the opposite.

The Top-6 philosophy

Every guide we publish contains exactly six picks. Not five, not fifty, not “a few honourable mentions.” Six.

The number is a discipline, not a gimmick. Six forces our editors to make real decisions. If a serum, a blazer or a carry-on is going to occupy one of only six slots, it has to genuinely earn the place ahead of everything left on the cutting-room floor. Long lists let a writer avoid choosing; a six-item list makes the choice the whole point. Readers tell us the same thing, endlessly: they do not want more options, they want fewer, better ones, chosen by someone who has actually handled the products and can explain the trade-offs.

Six is also a number a human can hold in their head. You can read a Sixated guide, remember the shortlist, and walk into a shop or checkout knowing what you are looking for and why. That is the entire job.

The eight verticals

Sixated publishes across eight editorial sections, each led by a named editor:

  • Fashion — wardrobe building, denim, tailoring, seasonal edits and the pieces worth the money.
  • Beauty — skincare, make-up, haircare and fragrance, tested on real skin over real time.
  • Wellness — movement, sleep, recovery and evidence-literate self-care, with no wellness-industry snake oil.
  • Lifestyle & Home — interiors, hosting, kitchen and the objects that make a home work.
  • Shopping — the best of what to buy right now, sales worth your attention and gift edits.
  • Travel — where to go, what to pack and how to do it well.
  • Culture & Icons — the people, moments and references that shape taste.
  • Living Well — money habits, organisation and the quieter mechanics of a good week.

The team

Sixated is written by a small, named editorial team, not an anonymous content mill. Margaux Devlin is our Editor-in-Chief. Priya Nair leads Fashion, Camille Rousseau leads Beauty, Naomi Okafor leads Wellness, Elena Bianchi leads Lifestyle & Home, Hannah Weiss is our Shopping Editor, and Sofia Marchetti covers Culture & Icons. Every editor has a byline and a public profile page at /team/, because you deserve to know who is telling you what to buy and on what authority.

Independence and how we fund the work

Sixated is independently owned. We are not part of a larger media conglomerate and we do not answer to a brand’s marketing department. We fund our journalism in two transparent ways: affiliate commerce (some links to retailers may earn us a commission if you buy) and clearly labelled sponsorship and advertising. Neither of those revenue streams buys a place in a guide. Our editors choose the six picks first, independently, and commercial relationships are attached afterwards or not at all. If a product is not good enough, no amount of commission or ad spend puts it on the list.

To be completely direct about our boundaries: Sixated does not cover gambling or casino content in any form, and we do not accept paid links. We will not sell a dofollow link, insert a client’s URL into editorial copy, or run “sponsored posts” that masquerade as independent recommendations. Sponsored work exists, but it is labelled unambiguously and kept separate from our editorial picks. You can read the detail in our Editorial Policy, Review Methodology and Ethics pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does every Sixated article have exactly six picks?

Because six forces a real decision. A long list lets a writer avoid choosing; a six-item list makes the choice the whole point. Every pick has to earn its slot ahead of everything we left out, and six is a number you can actually remember when you shop.

Does Sixated cover gambling or casino content?

No. Sixated does not cover gambling, betting or casino content in any form, and we decline advertising and partnerships in those categories.

How does Sixated make money?

Through affiliate commerce and clearly labelled advertising and sponsorship. Neither buys a place in a guide: editors choose the six picks independently, and commercial relationships never change what makes the list. We do not sell paid links.

Who writes Sixated's articles?

Named human editors and qualified contributors, each with a public profile at /team/. AI may help with research or grammar, but it never writes our body copy, chooses the six picks, or appears as a byline.
