Write for Sixated

We are always looking for expert fashion, beauty, wellness and lifestyle writers who can master the discipline of six.

Sixated is written by a small team of named editors and a carefully chosen group of expert contributors. If you know a corner of fashion, beauty, wellness, home or lifestyle deeply, and you can write with authority and restraint, we would like to read your pitch. This page explains what we are looking for and how to reach us.

Who we commission

We publish qualified, experienced writers — people with genuine expertise in the category they want to cover, whether that is denim construction, evidence-based skincare, sleep science, interiors, fragrance or hosting. Expertise can come from a professional background, from years of specialist writing, or from deep, demonstrable hands-on knowledge. What we are not looking for is generalists repackaging what is already on page one of a search. Sixated only works if the person writing the guide knows more than the reader does.

The Top-6 format is non-negotiable

Every Sixated guide contains exactly six picks. This is the heart of the publication and the discipline every contributor must master. Six means you cannot hedge: each pick has to genuinely earn its slot ahead of everything you leave out, and your job is to make the hard choices and defend them. A good Sixated writer can look at forty contenders and explain, with authority, why these six and not the others. If you find yourself wanting to add “a few honourable mentions,” this may not be the right format for you.

Our standards, which apply to you too

Contributors work to the same rules as our staff editors:

  • You write it yourself. We publish human-written prose. AI may help you research or check grammar, but it does not write your sentences or choose your six picks. See our AI Content Policy.
  • You source your claims. Prices, specifications, ingredients and factual statements must be verifiable, and first-hand testing must be distinguished from reported claims, per our Fact-Checking Policy.
  • You test or genuinely curate. A guide is either grounded in hands-on use or in real expert curation — never a rehash. Our Review Methodology explains the difference.
  • You disclose. Any PR samples, gifts or relevant relationships must be disclosed to your editor, in line with our Ethics policy. We do not accept pay-for-coverage, and neither can contributors.

How to pitch

Send a short, specific pitch to editorial@sixated.com with “Pitch” in the subject line. A strong pitch includes:

  • your proposed Top-6 headline and the angle,
  • a sentence on who the guide is for and why it matters now,
  • an early sense of the kind of picks you would consider and how you would evaluate them,
  • a line or two on your relevant expertise, and
  • two or three links to published work, if you have them.

Please pitch a defined guide rather than a broad topic — “The 6 best white T-shirts that survive a year of washing” beats “something about T-shirts.” We read every pitch, though we are a small team and cannot always reply to each one. If your idea fits, an editor will be in touch to discuss commissioning, scope and rates.

What we do not want

We do not accept unsolicited full drafts, AI-generated submissions, thinly disguised advertising for a brand you are connected to, or guest posts written to place a link. Sixated does not publish paid links or link-driven guest content of any kind. If that is what you are looking for, we are not the right home for it.
